Our Programming

First-time financial aid applicants are encouraged to learn more regarding their rights and responsibilities as it pertains to receiving financial aid at Moraine Valley Community College through our online Paying for College course. The engaging course is comprised of a series of mini-modules covering topics such as Types of Financial Aid, Understanding Financial Need, Satisfactory Academic Progress, and Dealing with Not Enough Aid. The course has an embedded knowledge assessment designed to gauge participants’ retention of content.

Once a student has reached financial aid warning, they have a delicate task ahead to ensure their continued financial aid eligibility. Failure to take corrective action could result in the loss of their aid for subsequent term(s). The college has a workshop to assist in the understanding of this financial aid status. Workshops are offered at the beginning of each fall and spring term. Communication to those needing to attend will be sent accordingly.
